The Design Thinking Process

Discover

As my mother was born under the zodiac sign of Cancer, I defined "The Birds" element to my theme as 'Ladybird', as my mother is very traditional and feminine.

Define

The challenge: to balance out colour and the three animal creature elements on the gift wrap.

Develop

Present garnish on X3 different floral wrapping papers.

• Brown paper background - with Ladybirds on sunflowers and pink ribbon

• Blue paper background - apply butterfly toppers with no ribbon

• Pink paper background - apply red wax with gold bees and brown ribbon

Adjustments

• No chocolate ribbon used on the blue paper as it has multiple colours within the print design, so using ribbon may over complicate the finished look.

• Added X3 balloons to bring the final details to a larger scale.

Deliver

Wrap in sets of X3 presents at a time in each of the wrapping paper prints.

I will also be attaching artificial white baby's breath to the butterflies to help contextualise their natural environment and add some dimension.

Balloons (If incorporated)

To mimic nature the balloons shall be placed at angles to look as if they have just landed in mums living room.

Example:

• Ladybirds mainly inhabit the ground by scrawling - so this balloon will be positioned lower down.

• Butterflies fly lower than bees so this balloon will be placed at mid-range viewpoint.

• Bees fly far and fast, so this balloon will be at the highest point on the wall.
